Leadership is about building systems that people can excel in. Great leaders build great companies.
Usually supervisors are promoted without any training or little understanding about what their new role will require, and they receive little or no coaching in that new role.
Managers must be able to effectively assess their work situations, understand and communicate with all employees, and determine the most appropriate way to get the job done on time, within budget and up to standards.
Most first-line supervisors are promoted (rewarded) because of their work ethic, attitude, technical skills, etc. – and not because of their people skills. However, once they become a supervisor their No. 1 responsibility is to deal with people.
To be a good leader you must understand people and before you can do that you must first understand yourself. Our leadership training is about dealing with people. In order for the supervisor and company to be successful, the people must be successful.
"Value Added Thinking is a powerful tool to catalyze positive change in your/any organization. The simulation served as a powerful example of how simple process changes can dramatically affect your performance, results, and profits." - John Storm, CEO, Brain Storm Network
"I was very pleased with the intensity of the level of participation by all. It appears we have made considerable progress in addressing some vital systems and procedures that will in fact result in significant payback. The improvements in throughput and reduced effort and paperwork will go a long way toward achieving one of my primary goals which is to get my management staff back to practicing the skills of managing our business and looking toward the future rather than managing crisis." - Jory Gromer, General Manager, Green Bay Packaging
"This program has been very helpful and very interesting. I especially liked the part on learning my thinking style compared to those of my co-workers’. I feel this has made me more of a complete group leader. I also believe that Mr. Pryor’s teaching methods are very interesting and very well thought out to keep us all involved in the activities he has planned for us." - Daniel Mabry,
Aearo Technologies
"I have enjoyed this class. This class is interesting and informative. Giving us assignments to do makes us realize that changing our styles is an ongoing process. This class is a case of do as I do, not only as I say." - Annie Dutton,
Aearo Technologies
“Very pleased with the focus on employee buy in to the process, not just talking about it and then charging in with an iron fist, but taking steps to ensure that the employees are on board. Very pleased with the preparedness of the event, hand outs, training presentation, etc. The employee buy in was outstanding this week; everyone did their part, and is motivated to keep going. The team was upbeat and ready to do a trial run by the end of the day on Thursday.” - Craig Mullens, Training Coordinator,
Midwest Trophy Mfg.
“Very good information that can actually be used in situations – not just theory.” - Jerry Elliott,
Grady Memorial Hospital
